I agree that they have speed and power - eighteen thousand miles an hour. The invention is out of this world- and the Russians have the secret under controll , But they should have some sympathy.."

This shows that the writer/singer disagrees with the Russians sending Laika into space in Sputnik 2. They think it is a crime, and believe the rumour that the food for Laika was poisoned. They agree that the invention of the satellite is amazing, and respect it , but don't like the fact that they are sending an animal up in it.
